Butch White moved to Davis California in 1972 after graduating from Sacramento State College. He is a building contractor who has built and remodeled a number of homes in the Davis area. He learned to use metal in art forms such as jewelry and stained glass in college art classes.  This gradually grew into the wire and rock sculptures that he is now making.  His pieces begin with the basic wire shaping.  The shape is gradually built up with solder and refined to its final shape.  The piece is then mounted on stone before it is given its patina and allowed to age into the final product.  Butch's art work can be seen and purchased at the Briggs & Company Gallery in Winters, California. Butch is also available for custom and commission work.
